Rick Liebig
Vice President | Senior Project Manager
I started in the construction industry right out of high school in 1976, and most of my education since then has come from what I like to call the School of Hard Knocks. My first job was cleaning ditches, and from there I worked my way up to form carpenter and eventually began leading crews as a foreman in 1982.
In my career, I’ve only worked for five construction companies, and I’m proud to say I’ve spent the last 17 years with Southwest Concrete Structures. As the Senior Project Manager, I’m involved in contracts, project buyouts, submittals, RFIs, billings, and overall project management from beginning to end.
I’m currently fully engaged in the seismic concrete work being completed for the West LA VA Campus Master Plan, which is transforming the historic West LA VA Medical Center into a first-of-its-kind community for Veterans. The project includes seismic upgrades and converting buildings into housing for more than 1,200 Veterans, supported by services, medical care, and a new town center. Being part of something with that level of impact is incredibly meaningful to me.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with the Lord, my family, and my friends. Camping, hunting, fishing, church activities, community service, and spending time outdoors are all big parts of my life. I’ve also recently started scuba diving in tropical locations, which my wife and I love doing together. We share our home with two Labradors who definitely keep us busy.
Working at Southwest Concrete Structures has been a great experience personally and professionally. The people here truly feel like family, and I’m grateful to be part of this team.
